Authenticity and sourcing

Are your perfumes authentic?

We source our fragrances from a mix of authorized distributors and wholesale suppliers, and we keep supplier invoices for our stock. If you'd like documentation for your order, email us and we'll share it.

If you ever have doubts about a product you receive, contact us within 14 days with photos of the bottle, the box, and the batch code. We'll look into it and make it right under our return policy.

Where do you source your fragrances?

From a mix of authorized distributors and wholesale suppliers. We keep invoices for our stock, and we can share them on request. When we share them, we may remove prices and personal details.

Are your perfumes brand new and sealed?

Yes. Our perfumes are new and sealed in their original wrapping.

Do you sell testers?

On some listings only. A tester is a version of the fragrance supplied for sampling. It often comes in simpler packaging than the retail version, for example without a retail box or cap.

Any tester is clearly labeled "Tester Packaging" on the product page, and the page explains exactly what's included. If you want the standard retail packaging, choose "Regular Packaging" where both options are offered. If you're unsure, email us before ordering.

Can I get documentation for my order?

Yes. Email retail@fragrancespark.com with your order number and the product you'd like documentation for, and we'll share the supplier invoice details.

How can I check my perfume's batch code?

A batch code is a short code of letters and numbers that identifies when and where a product was made. To check yours:

  1. Find the code on the bottom of the box. It's usually printed or etched.
  2. Find the code on the bottle, usually on the base or a label.
  3. Compare them. The two should match.
  4. Look at the packaging overall: spelling, print quality, and the finish on the box, cap, and sprayer.
  5. Optional: online batch-code lookup tools can show an approximate manufacture date for many brands. Their results don't prove authenticity on their own, so use them alongside the other checks.

Not sure what you're looking at? Email us a photo of the box and the bottle with the code visible, and we'll help. If the codes don't match, contact us within 14 days.

Ordering and payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. Our checkout runs on Shopify.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Email us as soon as possible. We can only cancel or change an order if it hasn't been processed or shipped. Orders are usually processed within 1 business day, so contact us quickly.

Can you ship to a PO box?

Some carriers can't deliver to PO boxes, so please use a street address. If you need to ship to a PO box, contact us before ordering.

What if I entered the wrong address?

Contact us right away. We can try to update it if the order hasn't shipped. Once a package has shipped, we can't redirect it.

Shipping and delivery

Where do you ship?

We currently ship to the United States and Canada.

How long does delivery take?

Orders ship within 1 business day of payment. After that, delivery is typically:

  • United States: 2 to 4 business days.
  • Canada: 5 to 8 business days.

These are estimates, not guarantees. Carrier delays, weather, and holidays can affect them. Expedited shipping is available at checkout for an extra fee.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free on orders of $100 or more. Under $100, it's calculated at checkout by weight and destination. You'll see the exact price before you pay.

Do you provide order tracking?

Yes. We email you a tracking number when your order ships, usually within 1 business day of payment. If you haven't received it within 2 business days, check your spam folder, then contact us.

What about duties and taxes on Canadian orders?

We collect applicable import duties and taxes at checkout, so in most cases you won't be asked to pay again when your package arrives.

Do you require a signature?

For orders over $300, we use insured shipping and may require a signature on delivery. Please make sure someone can receive the package.

Why did my items arrive in separate packages?

Orders with more than one item can ship in separate packages or on different days. You won't pay extra shipping for that.

What if my package is late or lost?

If your tracking hasn't updated in 5 business days, or your order hasn't arrived within the estimated time, contact us and we'll investigate with the carrier. If the carrier confirms your package is lost, we'll send a replacement, or a refund if the item is no longer available.

For full details, read our Shipping Policy.

Returns, exchanges, and damaged items

Can I exchange a perfume?

Yes, within our 14-day window. Email retail@fragrancespark.com with your order number and the fragrance you'd like instead, and we'll walk you through it.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 14-day return policy. The full terms, including how the window is counted and what condition items need to be in, are in our Return Policy and Refund Policy.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Email us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the package and the product. We'll send a replacement, or a refund if a replacement isn't available.

What if I received the wrong item?

Contact us right away with your order number and a photo of what you received, and we'll sort it out.

Choosing and using fragrance

How do I know which fragrance suits me?

Start with what you already like, then narrow it down by style:

  • Fresh and clean: citrus, aromatic, and aquatic scents, good for daytime and warm weather.
  • Floral: rose, jasmine, and peony, romantic and elegant.
  • Woody and smoky: sandalwood, cedar, and leather, warm and grounded.
  • Sweet and gourmand: vanilla, caramel, and fruit, cosy and playful.
  • Spicy and warm: cinnamon, amber, and tobacco, rich and best in cool weather.

Not sure? A gift set or mini set lets you try several scents before choosing a full bottle. See our perfume gift set guide, or email us with a perfume you love and we'll suggest something similar.

What's the difference between eau de toilette, eau de parfum, parfum, and extrait?

It's about how concentrated the fragrance is. Eau de toilette is the lightest, eau de parfum is stronger and tends to last longer, and parfum or extrait is the most concentrated, usually richer and more intense. Read more in our guide to eau de parfum vs eau de toilette.

What's a fragrance mist, and how is it different from perfume?

A fragrance mist (also sold as body mist or body spray) is a lighter, less concentrated fragrance. It sits closer to the skin and fades sooner, so it's made to be reapplied through the day and layered over lotion.

Are your fragrances unisex?

Many are. Each product page says who the fragrance is marketed for, and many people wear what they like regardless of the label.

Which fragrance makes a good gift?

If you aren't sure of their taste, a set of small bottles is the safest choice, because the recipient gets to find their favourite. See our gift set guide.

How do I make my fragrance last longer?

  • Apply to moisturised skin, ideally right after a shower.
  • Spray pulse points, such as your wrists and neck, and don't rub them together.
  • Spray a little on clothing or a scarf (test a small area first).
  • Reapply when you want a refresh.

For more, read our guide to layering fragrances.

How should I store my perfume?

Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, with the cap on. Bathrooms are usually a poor choice because of heat and humidity.

Can I take perfume on a plane?

Rules vary by airline and country, so check yours before you travel. In the US, carry-on liquids are generally limited to containers of 3.4 oz (100ml) or less, which is why small bottles and mini sets are popular for travel.
